A venetian is the blind you can tune through the day. Tilt the slats and you decide how much light comes in and where it lands, without lifting the blind at all.
We make our venetian blinds in our own Sydney factory, so slat width, tilt side and headrail length are all set for the window we measured. The materials and finishes are on our venetian blinds page.
These guides cover three things worth settling before you order. The first compares 25mm slimline slats with 50mm: how each changes the view, how much reveal depth they need, and why a small bathroom window and a wide living room window rarely want the same slat.
The second deals with bathrooms, laundries and other wet rooms. It explains why PVC and aluminium cope with steam when timber struggles, where the tilt wand should sit, and how to check privacy at night.
The third is a measuring guide. It walks through inside and outside fits, the three width checks, the clear depth a tilting slat needs, and how much glass the stack takes up when the blind is raised.
