Common questions
What is an S-fold curtain?
A curtain that runs on a track in a continuous wave, so the fabric holds an even S shape instead of gathering into pleats at the top. It has a modern look and it stacks tidily to one side. S-fold needs more fabric than a pinch pleat and it needs a straight track, so check the stacking space before you commit.
Should I choose sheer curtains or blockout?
It depends what the window is doing. Sheers soften light and give daytime privacy. Blockouts darken a room and add a layer of insulation against the glass. A double track lets you run both, which is where most of our Sydney living rooms end up. In a bedroom, blockout on its own with a good return at each side is enough.
Do curtains help with heat and noise?
More than most people expect. A lined blockout curtain with a pelmet or a ceiling-fixed track traps a layer of air against the glass, which slows heat moving both ways. Heavy fabric also absorbs sound in a room with hard floors. The gains come from the lining and how well the curtain seals at the top and sides.
Do you make the curtains in your factory?
No. Our Sydney factory makes our roller, venetian and vertical blinds. Curtains we measure, order made to your sizes in your chosen fabric and heading, then install, track and all. We bring the fabric books to you so you can feel the drape and see the colour in your own light before you decide on anything.
Track or rod for curtains?
A track is the right call for S-fold and for anything you open and close daily, because it runs smoothly and can be ceiling fixed to cut the light gap at the top. A rod suits pinch pleat or eyelet curtains and is more of a feature in the room. Wide windows on a track can also be motorised.
